WE ARE RACING TONIGHT — GATES ARE OPEN, ENGINES ARE READY
Harris Speedway, NC — Harris Speedway officials want to assure fans, drivers, and crews that tonight's racing program is ON and we fully intend to put on a great show.
We understand there has been some uncertainty surrounding tonight's weather forecast, and we want to address it head-on: the current forecast shows no significant rain in the area — only a very slight, passing chance of a brief shower. We're talking about a possible 1/10th of an inch of rainfall with a low probability of even occurring.
Now, to put that into perspective with a little Southern honesty — it's been so dry out here, even the fish have got ticks. The ground hasn't seen meaningful moisture in quite some time, and the racing surface has been holding up just fine through it all.
The bottom line? A trace amount of rain on a surface this dry is not going to shut us down. The track will absorb it and we'll be ready to roll.
That said, we are fully prepared for any scenario. Our experienced track crew is on standby with a complete plan to address the racing surface should any moisture come through. They've done it before, and they'll do it again — efficiently and without missing a beat. Our commitment is to get you the best racing possible tonight, rain delay or not.
So here's our message to you: Come on out.
Bring the family, bring your lawn chairs, and come enjoy a night of great racing at one of the finest short tracks in the region. The cars are ready, the drivers are fired up, and the track will be set. All we need is YOU in the stands.
Gates are open — we'll see you tonight at Harris Speedway.
